Google Cloud launches Ethereum-compatible Blockchain RPC service

With the initiation of blockchain technology, many industries have started to take advantage of this new tech’s features, including Web2 companies.

Tech giant Google Cloud has announced it plans to support Web3 developers by launching their Blockchain Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service.

The Blockchain RPC aims to provide developers with a “streamlined way” to interact with blockchain data, offering a “cost-effective, scalable, and reliable solution that minimizes the complexities of managing node infrastructure.”

According to the press release, Google Cloud’s Blockchain RPC will help in operating large-scale infrastructure for the Web3 ecosystem, offering a “backbone for decentralized applications.”

Google Cloud claimed the Blockchain RPC — compatible with the Ethereum JSON-RPC standard — will cater to developers at a wide range of organizations, from startups to large enterprises.

Google Cloud’s new service will offer up to 100 requests per second and 1 million requests per day for its free tier.

To make it easier for the developers to use, the Blockchain RPC will support Ethereum mainnets and testnets. Additionally, the tech giant promises to expand its support to other blockchain networks over the next year.

Google Cloud claims developers can transition from the existing RPC providers by changing their existing endpoint to the Blockchain RPC endpoint.

Highlighting the benefits of Google’s latest blockchain-themed service, 0xArc’s Head of Engineering Kyle Quintal said, “Google Cloud's Blockchain RPC offerings deliver fast response times — exactly what you'd expect from them.”

“Coupled with the fact that Google Cloud follows the EIP1474 standards and has the free-tier option, we integrated its service into our system right away and haven't looked back."
