Bolt’s Capital leads funding with contributions from Alpha Token Capital and Enflux as the blockchain protocol achieves 12,778 TPS and integrates with Chainspect
Waterfall Network, the most innovative layer one (L1) decentralized and scalable ledger, today announced it has raised $11.6M USD from Bolt's Capital, Alpha Token Capital and Enflux. The funding will be used to advance Waterfall’s research and development to strengthen the platform’s infrastructure with node simplification and further advancement of the network. The financial backing is also a huge vote of confidence in Waterfall's potential to improve its speed, scalability and overall operational efficiency.
“Waterfall’s rapidly growing community of supporters and validators is a testament to the network’s potential, and it’s incredibly encouraging to see investors recognizing that vision,” said Sergii Grybniak, CTO of Blue Wave and Head of Research at Waterfall. “The initial $2 million from ByteTrade Lab, a leader in infrastructure for the user-controlled web, was instrumental in launching our mainnet and driving early success. We’re thrilled to have more support from Bolt’s Capital, Alpha Token Capital and Enflux as we chart the course for Waterfall’s future development.”
The investment comes on the heels of Waterfall Network setting a new performance record of 12,778 transactions per second (TPS)–– an achievement that underscores the protocol’s ability to effectively solve the blockchain trilemma of security, decentralization, and virtually unlimited scalability. Waterfall Network is a renowned layer-1 highly scalable and decentralized smart contract platform, compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). The protocol's strength lies in its directed acyclic graph (DAG) architecture, which enables high scalability via parallel and simultaneous blockDAG consensus. DAG also enables parallel transaction processing, allowing multiple transactions to be verified and added simultaneously.
Standout features include:
Waterfall's EVM-compatibility enables seamless migration of applications built on the Ethereum ecosystem. Users can easily integrate their Ethereum-supported wallets and invite community participation, all while leveraging the benefits of Waterfall's user-friendly features.
Adding to its success, Waterfall recently integrated with Chainspect, a blockchain analytics platform specializing in technical performance metrics of various blockchains. Chainspect empowers prospective investors and adopters with data-driven insights, offering a clear comparison of Waterfall’s technical performance against other leading blockchains in a user-friendly format.
Recent results show that Waterfall outperforms Solana and Aptos by factual scalability.
A Vision for the Future
Waterfall started in July 2024 with 2048 validators and experienced a 338% growth increase in total value locked (TVL) within its first month. By mid-August, the platform boasted 6,949 active validators, making it the world's third-largest decentralized PoS network by validator count.
As of December 4, 2024, Waterfall reported 8,647 active validators, securing its position as the third-largest decentralized PoS network globally in terms of validators count.
Waterfall’s success has also been co-signed by the Google Cloud Web3 Starter Program, giving developers access to cloud resources for testing and infrastructure support. Waterfall became the first layer-one (L1) decentralized and scalable ledger to successfully pass testing with a record 1,573,892 validators across a global testnet spanning South and North America, Australia, Africa, and Eurasia (both Europe and Asia) - and the British, Japanese, and Taiwanese islands.
Based on its current record, the Waterfall Network is on track to become one of the world's most scalable and decentralized layer-1 networks. The combination of Web2 user-centric efficiency with Web3 decentralization makes Waterfall a leading innovator in the Web 3 space. The network promises to deliver new innovations in the near future, guaranteed to surprise and inspire.

About Waterfall
Waterfall is a leading layer one (L1) architecture aiming to provide a solution for security, scalability and decentralization to help dAPP developers change the world. Waterfall’s Directed Acyclic Graph (“DAG”) achieves and allows it to run a validator node from any device, including low-cost laptops and mobile phones in the future. Waterfall is Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatible, allowing for the portability of decentralized applications (dAPPs), and has very low hardware requirements for the participants to become validators.
