Units.Network has officially launched its mainnet, unveiling a Layer 0 blockchain ecosystem aimed at simplifying and enhancing blockchain interoperability.

According to a press release shared with The Byteline, this foundational network layer enables seamless deployment of interconnected blockchains, offering developers and businesses a flexible and scalable platform for building decentralized applications.

Founded by Sasha Ivanov, the creator of the Waves blockchain, Units.Network leverages a unique Layer 0 architecture that supports multiple interoperable blockchains.

The network uses a re-staking mechanism, allowing interconnected chains to share security and resources while being backed by existing Waves validators. This approach facilitates a scalable, decentralized, and efficient ecosystem that integrates smoothly with the broader Waves infrastructure.

The transition from a successful testnet to a fully operational mainnet provides a robust framework for projects requiring interoperability, transparency, and security.

Units.Network's architecture is particularly beneficial for decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs), decentralized finance (DeFi) projects, and other applications needing seamless interaction across various blockchain environments.

Coinciding with the mainnet launch, Units.Network's native token, $UNIT0, is now available for trading on major cryptocurrency exchanges MEXC and Gate.io. The $UNIT0 token serves as both a utility and governance token, allowing holders to participate in decision-making, vote on ecosystem upgrades, and support the launch of new interconnected chains.

As part of its community-focused model, Units.Network airdropped the initial $UNIT0 tokens to early testnet participants. The broader community now has the opportunity to join the governance process with the token’s listing on MEXC and Gate.io.

"Units.Network aims to make blockchain interoperability accessible and effective for any project that values decentralization," said Sasha Ivanov, Founder of Units.Network. "With our Layer 0 infrastructure, launching a blockchain can now be as straightforward as issuing a token, without sacrificing security or scalability."

The mainnet launch and the $UNIT0 token listing mark significant steps in building a connected, user-driven blockchain ecosystem, furthering Units.Network's mission is to enhance blockchain interoperability.
